John Goodman owns and operates what is likely the largest private sleep disorder treatment business in the United States. With over a decade of sleep treatment and diagnostic experience, along with twenty five years of management, customer service, manufacturing, and engineering experience, John still needed help from his then 17 year old son to start and run a sleep treatment internet business.
We did not plan to have a website. In 1999, John wanted to run some online auctions in order to liquidate excess inventory. After having some difficulty getting auctions with pictures up and running, John turned to his son Johnny for help. It was not long before many auctions were running and buyers were asking for all sorts of CPAP related items. A simple price list was posted on the Internet as a place we could refer customers. A new business was born when John’s youngest son, Zach, was placed in charge of external sales methods and Johnny turned his attention to developing a full service website.

LifeBack & O2 Freedom Co., Grand Junction, CO was launched in 2003 by Holly Lockwood. Holly has designed various backpacks specifically for individual needs. She knows that each pack has a story; a story of the individual who contacted her for help. After much thought, research, experiments and suggestions by others, Holly made a "normal" oxygen cylinder carrying backpack (for both liquid and gas cylinders), a fanny pack for golfers, a horse pack for equestrians, and a swim-pack. She has also designed purses, specifically to hold a canister on one side of the purse. Holly continues to update the backpacks to fit the needs of as many supplemental oxygen users as she can.
Being oxygen dependent does not mean the end of life. By creating a more functionable method for carrying oxygen many people have been able to maintain an active and more normal lifestyle.
